Visual
Arts
KlezKamp features a workshop setting for the arts classes,
a space where students can work on their projects at the times
of their choosing and at their own pace while art classes
are going on or in the evenings. Instruction, resource materials
and supplies will be available as needed. Demonstrations and
slide shows will be offered. Bring along your own projects
and tools, as well as materials to share. Work completed in
the arts workshops will be shown in the traditional exhibit
at the end of the week.
Yiddish Calligraphy/AM2
Peggy Davis
Jump back in time to examine and be inspired by creative lettering in Yiddish magazine, newspaper and book titles. The class will learn/review basic principles of Hebrew alphabet construction. Students will design an alef-beys of their own.
Papercutting/PM1 Susan Leviton
Fiber Arts/AM1 Vera Sokolow
Join veteran crafts instructor Vera Sokolow for an exciting and challenging fabric and thread workshop. Past projects have included challah covers, yarmulkes, aprons, wall hangings and, of course, purses and tote bags. Bring your creative self and an open mind. Participants are also welcome to join in the creation of this year’s Community KlezKamp Quilt.
